Foo Fighters taking acoustic 'Honor' on the road
Dispatching from their tight, hard rock arena shows, the Foo Fighters will be playing a series of acoustic shows later this year as part of an international tour.
The band have relentlessly taken 2005's double album "In Your Honor" across the globe, and, in the expected tradition, have been rocking arenas with tracks from throughout their career. However, speaking to MTV, drummer Taylor Hawkins says the time has come to show the disc's gentle side.
"We told everybody we're gonna do some acoustic touring," he says, "so I guess we'd better. Instead of going out there and sweating my butt off every night, I'll be playing with my brushes quietly and stuff. I think it'll be good for us, though, as musicians, to go out and explore that dynamic."
Although dates are yet to be announced, the supporting cast has - with violinist Petra Haden (Beck), pianist Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers) and percussionist Drew Hester all set to join the four-piece on the road. Hester recently produced the debut set for Hawkins' side project, Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders.
